Blindness Prevention Project

Medical and surgical eye care campaigns were carried out in Ibb Governorate – Jiblah, offering free services that included cataract removal surgeries, intraocular lens implants, as well as medical consultations, examinations, and specialized check-ups.

These campaigns were implemented as part of an annual plan aimed at reducing visual impairment, with a particular focus on serving low-income and vulnerable groups. The project, funded by Direct Aid Association – July 2016, enabled 581 beneficiaries to access essential eye care services, contributing significantly to efforts to improve visual health in the community.

In the same year (2016), the foundation, with generous support from the Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF), organized a free medical eye camp in Ibb Governorate. The camp successfully performed nearly 600 free cataract removal and lens implantation surgeries, in addition to providing eye examinations for more than 4,500 patients. This initiative, carried out in cooperation with several supporting partners, expanded the scope of services and ensured that a wider segment of those in need could benefit.
