Nine-month-old Arjwan is another victim of fatal malnutrition in Yemen.

“I faced death alone with my daughter, Arjwan, for two months in a row, and I used to die from the pain of loss a thousand times a day, and now I have come back to life after Arwan recovered.. Purple is my lung that I breathe.”

With these words, Mrs. Zainab Umm Urjwan spoke to us, and expressions of joy fell from her eyes with joy at seeing life return to Urjwan, then the expressions choked her, so she could not complete her speech and her gratitude to the Lord on this occasion.

Like her father "Radwan" also, he said that today is a wonderful and special day for him as he sees his daughter's return to life again.

The health workers who received Arjwan at Hamedan General Hospital in a camp for displaced people in Hamedan District, Sana’a Governorate are also grateful for this moment and considered it a wonderful achievement for the hospital’s nutrition team, the World Food Program (WFP) and implementing partner Medical Compassion MMF.

These are special moments and wonderful days as we watch the little girl Arjwan return to play and laugh again and give life to her veins after complete despair about it.. We are making every effort to save children from the dangers of malnutrition, but the disaster requires greater efforts to ensure that their lives are saved.

Purple is one story among many stories accomplished by MMF teams in the project to treat malnutrition diseases implemented by the Foundation in Hodeidah and Sana'a with the support of our distinguished partner WFP.

Thousands of children are dying as a result of the continuous deterioration of the health situation in Yemen. In purple, we call on everyone to make more efforts for peace. It is time to open a blank page in which children enjoy safety.
