In the village of Al-Sarid, Al-Maraw’ah District, Waseem’s mother almost gave in to despair after her child’s health condition reached a severe level, as Waseem entered a difficult stage of malnutrition that made him bedridden.
The mother, Sharia Muhammad, took the child to the medical compassion team in the district, where the child’s weight was at a very dangerous stage. The team made the necessary measurements and immediately began to dispense the nutrition envelopes and advise the child’s mother on how to properly use the nutrition envelopes and maintain the child’s nutrition.
A month and a half is the period that Waseem spent in reluctance to the compassion teams, the period during which hope returned to his mother and life came back to him and his weight became more than ten kilos and his health condition began to improve.
Many children are at risk of malnutrition, so MMF is making efforts in more than seven districts of Al-Hodeidah Governorate within the project to treat moderate acute malnutrition, funded by the World Food Program (WFP)
