The nutritional need of Yemeni children represents a major challenge to humanitarian work in Yemen, where many children suffer from the risk of moderate and severe acute malnutrition, and our medical teams working within the scope of our intervention are still facing this epidemic with courage and determination since 2016, and we are with all loyal partners.
Today, Sunday, the nutrition team at Hamedan General Hospital celebrated the recovery of the child Ramzi Fadel Qahtan Abdullah, one of the displaced children in Hamdan District, Sana’a Governorate.
“I am very happy, and my feeling is indescribable, and my joy today is incomparable, as I saw my son Ramzi come back to life again.” This is how Uncle Fadel, the father of Ramzi’s child, expressed his joy on this occasion.
Uncle Fadel continues, "We used to visit the center every week, and we had great hope for a symbolic recovery, and now, thanks to God, our hope is fulfilled. We can only thank all those in charge of nutrition in the center, and we also thank the person in charge of the project represented by MMF, as well as the World Food Program (WFP).
In a hoarse voice, Uncle Fadel continues to speak to us by saying, I appeal to all the humanitarian world not to leave the children of Yemen a victim of this deadly epidemic and to continue your efforts to rescue our children from this epidemic.
It is a painful reality and great challenges, but we go beyond all that in order to reach such successes as we see the recovery of the children who underwent the treatment process in our teams distributed to the directorates that come within the scope of our humanitarian interventions.
Compassion Medical Compassion is implementing a project to treat malnutrition diseases in seven districts in Al Hudaydah Governorate and Hamdan District in Sana’a Governorate, where the number of beneficiaries of the project has reached more than five hundred thousand beneficiaries.
